I took a trip to Normandy this past spring and it really made an impact on me. We visited several World War II museums, in Caen and Arromanches. We also got to go to Gold and Omaha beaches. Reading stories of the soldiers, and standing where they stood over 50 years ago really puts things into perspective. Before this trip, I always thought of war as being far off with a bunch or people I don’t know, but when you stop to consider that they are actual people, who love and hope and dream like the rest of us, it changes people.
